Anthems

The anthems are parody hymns written to well-known church tunes. They are meant to be sung, or at least hummed. Each one has song notes underneath that check the real facts mentioned, such as the genesis block headline, the first pizza purchase and what a full node does. Nothing here is financial advice.

Why hymns? Songs are how people remember things they care about, and Bitcoin has plenty to remember: the headline inside the first block, the pizza bought with bitcoin, the idea of checking instead of trusting. The anthems are the lightest part of this site. The song notes under each one are the serious part, and they link the sources.

How to read them: sing the lyrics to the old church tune in your head, then scroll down to the song notes to see which lines are jokes and which are history. The jokes are ours. The dates and numbers come from the sources linked in the notes. If a line sounds like advice to buy or sell something, it is a joke, and you should not treat it as advice.

The hymns are short, so we kept the list below simple: one link per song, in the order they appear in the book.
