On ₿ I Stand

On ₿ I Stand ⏎ (Melody: “More Love to Thee, O Christ”)

By Eric · Updated October 17, 2026

Satire and commentary: names and likenesses are used for parody, and nothing here is a statement of fact about real people. Sourced facts are in the sections below.

Verse 1
More love for ₿ I pray, within my soul,
Not for the pumps, but faith that makes me whole.
When all withdrawals froze, still I held on—
On ₿ I stand, on ₿ I stand.

Verse 2
Though mocked by all the world, I shall not fear,
Satoshi’s code is carved within me here.
Each block by block has kept my hope so strong,
On ₿ I stand forevermore.

Chorus
HODL! HODL! — my heart’s faithful cry,
Where truth is free and chains cannot deny.
His whitepaper, the light upon my path—
On ₿ I stand. Amen! Amen!

In plain words: what this means

This is a parody hymn about holding. Song notes on the real things behind it. Checked on October 17, 2026.

Lines you can check

"When all withdrawals froze, still I held on." Celsius froze withdrawals in 2022, and a US judge later ruled that customers' "Earn" deposits belonged to the estate. See our Celsius fact check. A different lesson sits under the lyric: if you held your own keys, nobody could freeze you.
"His whitepaper, the light upon my path." Satoshi published the Bitcoin whitepaper in 2008. We could not open the paper's text in our tools, so we do not quote it here.
"Not for the pumps." A good instinct. Bitcoin fell about 75% from its 2021 high to its 2022 low and then reached a record in March 2024. See our Resurrection explainer.
"HODL." A slogan from a typo in an old forum post, as the folklore goes. We did not verify that story.

What the song does not say

It does not say holding is safe. Holding is a choice that depends on how long you can wait and how much loss you can take.

A work of satire and commentary. Historical summaries are simplified and may contain errors. Not financial, legal, or tax advice.
