Keeping your bitcoin safe

Holding Bitcoin comes down to one question: who controls the keys? These guides walk through backups, wallet types, recovery words, shared keys and scams, one plain step at a time. Each one links to its primary sources.

Start with the first guide below, then read in any order. These guides are drafted by an AI assistant from primary sources and checked before publication. How we verify. Nothing here is investment advice.

How to use this guide

Read the first card to get the plain-words overview, then jump to whatever you need. Every article ends with its sources, and anything we could not confirm is marked as unconfirmed instead of guessed. If a word is new to you, the Glossary gives a short definition with a source.

What these guides do not do

They do not predict prices, recommend products, or tell you what to buy or sell. Opinions are kept in a box labelled “Our take (opinion, not fact)”, so you can always tell facts and opinions apart. New guides are added as new Field Notes are published.
